Mick Dawson was Skipper of the first two man team ever to row, non-stop across the North Pacific Ocean. Departing from the east coast fishing port of Choshi, Japan he arrived after an epic journey of 189 days, 10 hours and 55 minutes beneath the iconic span of the Golden Gate Bridge on Friday 13th of November 2009.
A veteran of two previous successful Atlantic Ocean crossings and two dramatic, unsuccessful solo attempts on the North Pacific, Mick Dawson will give an insight into what it takes to row an ocean and complete such an epic challenge. From the mind numbing two hours on two hours off 24 hours a day rowing work schedule, to dealing with the monstrous extremes of weather on the North Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
Mick will be joined by long time friend and fellow ocean rower Roz Savage to introduce the next adventure for Bojangles, his specially designed ocean rowing boat. At the hands of Roz and Andrew Morris, ‘Bo’, will be rowed home to England across the North Atlantic for the start of the London 2012 Olympics.
