Join us for the Best of British Launch on April 23rd as the city of San Francisco says farewell to Bojangles and the OAR crew.
San Francisco Bay marks the spot where Bojangles arrived in November 2009 after her record breaking maiden voyage of 189 days, 10 hours and 55 minutes, non stop across the North Pacific Ocean. She has been on display at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park ever since and throughout March and April 2012, has become a live working exhibit as she is refitted ready for the OAR.
Now the time has come for Bojangles to leave her home in San Francisco, and we’d like to invite you all to the Best of British Launch with the OAR team, Andrew Morris and Roz Savage, the British Consul General, Priya Guha and representatives from the City of San Francisco including Mark Chandler, Director of the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of International Trade and Commerce. We’ll be smashing a bottle of champagne to send Bojangles on her way to London as she begins her journey across country to St John’s, the port of departure for the OAR. We’ll also be toasting the opening night of BritWeek, the action-packed two-week celebration of creativity and innovation between Britain and California.
